Abdulov Alexander Gavrilovich

He was born at 29th of May 1953, in Russian city Tobolsk in the theatre family. His father -Abdulov Gavriil Danilovich was a creator and artistic director of the first Russian dramatic theatre is the Middle East in city Fergana, Uzbekistan. His mother is Abdulova Ljudmila Alexandrovna.

 

Alexander Abdulovs actor carrier started when he was 5 years old, when he played in the Fergana theatre with his father. His first performance was The chimes of Kremlin. The memory of his father was the most beautiful thing, which Alexander has in his life, as he says himself. The father brought up to Alexander, that the theatre is like a Church.

 

In the youth years Alexander Abdulov liked sport and music. He was the fan of the great English band The Beatles and he never covers it. In his last film, named The Musicals from Bremen & Co, where he was as a producer, he show, that he love The Beatles again.

 

Abdulov had very good success in the sport. He fenced as a professional and he got the title Master of sports of USSR I this kind of sport. That time he wanted to be a professional sportsman and follow it all his life. He even entered to the physical training faculty of the Fergan pedagogic institute. But after a year of studying there he realized, that he need theatre. And then he successfully entered to GITIS (Russian great theatre institute).

 

In 1974 Mark Zakharov saw talented young guy and invite him to the Theatre, called by Leninist Comsomol (now it called Lencom). He proposes him to the main role in the one performance. For that role he got the premium, called Theatre spring. That role determine Alexanders actor carrier. In the future Alexander will call Mark Zakharov my second father.

 

The distinctive parts of Alexanders playing are scenic charm, inside and outside plasticity, energy temperament and irony with himself. These kinds of his playing helped to create many interesting characters, which became the visiting card of Lencom.

 

Alexander in his theatre works affected with suddenness in choosing roles and deep characters of his personages.

 

Alexander thinks, that his most important role is Aleksey Ivanovich in the performance The Barbarian and the Heretic (the scenario is near the novel The player of Dostoyevsky). He got some premiums for this role and he says, that he is a player by nature.

 

The unruly character of Alexander Abdulov annoyed the bureaucrats of culture very often and they demanded to close the performance with Alexander and deleted his name from the list of pretenders for the different premiums.

 

Since 1975 year Alexander became the actor of cinema. Here he showed his best actor kinds as lyricism and deep psychology penetration to his role. His romantic, introspected, clever and a few sad characters were as a symbol of Russians life at 1970-1980 years. But Alexander didnt want to show only this kind of his talent, he tried to vary his palette, he played in many different roles.

 

Alexander became very famous and popular after his role in the film The ordinary miracle (1978). In that film showed up the special streak of the actor Alexander Abdulov: clear form, abruptness and a few angularities in the character of personage, intellect and unique lyric intonation.

 

Alexander filmed in more than 120 films. His exceptional talent let him play the roles, which are very different from each other. He filmed in films of different genres and which did different directors.

 

Alexander worked with director Victor Sergeev for a long time and he wrote the scenario of one of his films, called The schizophrenia (1997).

 

The exceptional physical form of Alexander let him not to use dubbing actors almost in all his films. In one of the cinema festivals he got a premium as the best stunt man in the film To kill the dragon

 

In the films of last years we can see Alexanders perfection. In 2000 there was his debut as a director of fiction film (before he just did a half-documentary film The church must stay as a church) The musicals from Bremen & Co near the famous fairy tale. That film became one of the most expansive films in Russia. Alexander filmed it in Russia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, RSA and even in Bali island (Indonesia). In that film were used most modern (for that day) technologies. Alexander think, that his film isnt only the fairy tale about the animals-musicals, but its about strolling players, in one of them Alexander means himself, who went to Moscow from far far Fergana. He says, that he shoots this film because of his friends great supporting. Alexander played there the personage, who telling this story to onlookers. The other actors, who filmed there, are very famous and popular.

 

Alexander thinks, that the main idea of his film is the lines from popular song: Nichego na svete luchshe netu, chem brodit druzjam po belu svetu (It means something near: Nothing is better in our life, than traveling with friends in the world). Actors brotherhood, mutual aid and selflessness are very important things for Alexander Abdulov.

 

Alexander has an excellent organization talent. He organized some charity concerts, called In the backyard, which were popular. The money, which they got for those concerts, they gave to the childrens homes and to poor people. Alexander also took part in repairing Moscow International cinema festival. He was the director of it during some years. In 1993 year he organized Theatre Antrepriza and directing it till now. A lot of money, which he gets from it, he give to the charity. Alexander Abdulovs Antrepriza and Lencom took part in recovery of Russian church of The Christmas of the Bless Virgin in Putinki (Moscow). Friends and colleagues say about Alexander, that he is very trusty and he will always help his friends, if they are in trouble.

 

In 1986 year Alexander got a title Honored actor of Russia and in 1991 he got a title National actor of Russia. In 1997 he got the honors of respect.

 

Alexander got the prize, named The golden ram as a best person in the cinema year (1998), he got the prize as a best man role in the film Schizophrenia (1997), as a best man role in the film The quiet sloughs (2000). Also he got a prize, named The golden horseshoe for the producing The musicals from Bremen & Co (2001). He got the prize called The pilgrim from St. Petersburg association of fantasts.
